The body of Ugandan TikToker Timothy Kayanja, popularly known as Jayden, has returned home from India, a week after he died while undergoing treatment for sickle cell disease and aplastic anaemia.
Jayden’s remains arrived at Entebbe International Airport at about 2pm on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, where they were received by family members, friends and other mourners.
Emotions ran high at the airport as mourners gathered to receive the casket before it was handed over for transportation to Kampala.
A Plus Funeral Management took charge of the body, while a team from TMR International Hospital, which had been involved in Jayden’s treatment and facilitated his journey to India for specialised medical care, was also present.
The body was later transported from Entebbe to Nakulabye, where mourners were expected to gather on Tuesday evening.
Jayden had travelled to India seeking a bone marrow transplant after years of living with sickle cell disease. His health later deteriorated after he developed aplastic anaemia, a serious condition in which the bone marrow fails to produce enough blood cells.
His death had sparked an outpouring of grief among his family, friends, followers and fellow content creators, who had followed his journey and efforts to seek specialised treatment abroad.
