The accident occurred on September 18, 2026, at approximately 7:30 a.m. near Muggies Hotel.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Recheal Kawala, the accident involved a white Toyota Hilux Double Cabin, registration number UA 945EW, driven by Mulema Dennis, a resident of Mutungo Biina, and a motorcycle, registration number UMA 530LD.

The motorcycle rider died on the spot, while the three pupils sustained serious injuries. They were rushed to Mulago Hospital for medical attention.

Police have attributed the preliminary cause of the accident to alleged careless driving by the driver of motor vehicle UA 945EW. However, investigations into the circumstances surrounding the accident are ongoing.

Mulema Dennis remains in police custody pending court proceedings.

Police have urged all road users to exercise caution, observe traffic rules and regulations, and adhere to road safety guidelines to prevent accidents and save lives.
