KAMPALA, September 24, 2026 — Police in Kabalagala have opened a murder investigation following the death of Matovu Moses, a musician with the renowned Afrigo Band, after he was allegedly attacked by unknown assailants in Kampala.
According to Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Racheal Kawala, Moses was attacked on the morning of September 24, 2026, at Kibuli Market Zone B in Makindye Division, Kampala District.
He was rushed to Kibuli Hospital for medical treatment but later succumbed to the injuries sustained in the attack.
Police have since registered a case of suspected murder and dispatched a task team to the scene to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“Efforts are also underway to identify and apprehend the suspected assailants,” Kawala said.
Investigations are ongoing, with police expected to establish the motive behind the attack and identify those responsible for Moses’ death.
