30 Vehicles Impounded in Joint Traffic Enforcement Operations

Kampala, September 15, 2026 — A total of 30 vehicles have been impounded during joint traffic enforcement operations conducted by the Uganda Police Force and the Military Police in and around Kampala.

According to the authorities, the operations are being carried out in accordance with the law and are targeting motorists and vehicles involved in various traffic violations.

The violations include driving vehicles without number plates, installing illegal sirens and flashing lights, concealing number plates, and engaging in reckless driving.

Police said the drivers of the impounded vehicles will be taken before courts of law to answer charges arising from the alleged offences.

The joint operations are expected to continue as authorities seek to promote discipline and compliance with traffic laws on the country’s roads.

The public has been urged to cooperate with officers conducting the enforcement operations and to comply with traffic regulations to help improve road safety.
