Nansana Municipality Mayor John Bosco Sserunkuuma has called on the Ministry of Works and Transport to undertake a comprehensive clearing of the Lubigi drainage channel to address persistent flooding along sections of the Kampala-Hoima and Lubigi-Naluuma roads.

Sserunkuuma said flooding had continued despite earlier drainage works, raising concerns about the effectiveness of the intervention.
He noted that drainage-clearing machines had been withdrawn after work was completed on some sections of the channel, but the persistent flooding suggested that the exercise had not adequately addressed the problem.
The mayor urged the ministry to ensure that the drainage channel is thoroughly cleared to improve water flow and help reduce flooding along the affected roads.
Persistent flooding in the area continues to raise concerns about road accessibility and the disruption of movement for motorists and other road users, particularly during periods of heavy rainfall.
