FIRE OUTBREAK AT ORIGINAL KISEKKA SPARE CENTER

Central Police Station  Kampala  is investigating a fire outbreak that occurred today at about 1230hrs at Original Kisekka Spare Center in Kampala.

According ASP Luke Owoyesigyire Deputy Public Relations Officer Kampala Metropolitan Police fire affected two shops, BB4 and BB5, located in the basement of the building. Shop BB4 was completely burnt, while shop BB5 was partially damaged. Preliminary findings indicate that the fire may have originated from sparks generated during welding activities outside one of the affected shops.

Police Fire Prevention and Rescue Services responded promptly and contained the fire. The scene was subsequently visited and processed by detectives and Scene of Crime Officers

One of the shop owners fainted at the scene and was rushed to the hospital for medical attention. No loss of life was reported.

The welder, only identified as Sebulime, is currently on the run, and efforts are underway to establish his whereabouts. The value of the damaged property is yet to be established.

Investigations are ongoing to establish the exact cause of the fire and circumstances surrounding the incident.
