KAMPALA, UGANDA — The National Disciplinary Committee of the Uganda People’s Congress (UPC) has recommended the expulsion of party member Enap Denis Adim from the party over alleged disciplinary violations.
The committee’s chairperson, Paul Peter Okello, confirmed the decision during a press conference held at the UPC headquarters at Uganda House.
Okello said Adim had been summoned to appear before the committee earlier this month but failed to attend. As a result, the committee proceeded with its deliberations in his absence.
According to the committee, Adim is accused of falsely presenting himself as the president of UPC during the presidential election period. He allegedly appointed committees and wrote letters to various leaders, presenting himself as the party’s president.

The committee said such actions contravened the UPC Constitution.
In addition to recommending Adim’s expulsion, the National Disciplinary Committee also recommended the expulsion of eight other party members: Jack Khabusi, Emmanuel Were Magero, Aisha Naome Natukunda, Josephine Babirye, Chris Ongom, Alex Ogwal Adyebo, Suzan Achola, and George Ewal.
The committee alleged that the disciplinary violations involving the individuals contributed to divisions and internal disagreements within the party. It further accused the members of misleading Enap Denis Adim into believing that he had the authority to serve as UPC president.
The National Disciplinary Committee has consequently asked the party’s highest decision-making body, the National Council, to consider and make a final decision on the recommended expulsions as soon as possible.
