Lira, Uganda – The Archbishop of the Church of Uganda, Dr. Samuel Steven Kazimba Mugalu, has urged church leaders to stop waiting for Christians to come to church and instead take the gospel to communities where they live.
Archbishop Kazimba made the remarks while leading a worship service at Boroboro Cathedral in Lira District, during his visit to the Lango Diocese.
He encouraged church leaders to actively reach out to people in villages, noting that many challenges prevent Christians from attending church services.
“For the Church to establish strong roots and grow, it must go out to the people,” Archbishop Kazimba said, emphasizing the importance of taking ministry beyond church buildings.
The Archbishop was visiting the Lango Christians as part of his farewell engagements ahead of his planned retirement in August 2027.
He also commended the development achieved in the Lango Diocese, saying it had contributed to the development of the country.
Archbishop Kazimba further called on young people to increase their participation in church ministry at different levels, urging them to embrace opportunities to serve the Church and their communities.
