The Masaza Cup final will be held at Wankulukuku Stadium at 4:00 p.m. in the last phase of October, with organisers announcing ticket prices and urging supporters to buy early and maintain safety and sportsmanship.

The eagerly awaited final will be preceded by the third-place playoff between Kyaggwe County and Gombe County, which will kick off at midday.

Organisers announced that tickets for the final will go on sale tomorrow, with ordinary tickets priced at UGX 30,000, VIP tickets at UGX 50,000, and VVIP tickets at UGX 150,000.

Limited early-bird tickets will also be available on a first-come, first-served basis, with ordinary tickets going for UGX 20,000 and VIP tickets for UGX 40,000.

Ordinary and VIP tickets will be available online, with the official purchase link to be announced by the organisers. VIP tickets will also be sold at designated physical outlets.

Fans who purchase VVIP tickets will receive an additional jersey for their team, subject to availability and the duration of the promotion.

Tickets Available at Distribution Centres

Supporters will also be able to purchase tickets from designated distribution centres starting tomorrow.

The centres include:

  • Bulange
  • Unique Gardens, Goma
  • Saza Headquarters
  • Hardware World, Kalagi
  • Ezra Gas Mart, Kisubi

In Gomba, Butambala and Mityana, tickets will be available at the respective Saza headquarters.

Organisers said more distribution centres would be announced later and urged fans to follow official communication for updates on ticket availability, including announcements when tickets are sold out.

Speaking to journalists at Bulange Mengo, Robert Sserwanga, the Minister of Youth, Sports and Arts in Buganda, thanked the eight counties that participated in the tournament and commended everyone who contributed to its success.

A total of 100 of the scheduled 102 matches have so far been played, with the remaining two matches—the third-place playoff and the final—set to take place during the final phase at Wankulukuku.

Sserwanga said the tournament has continued to provide an important platform for bringing communities together through football.

Beyond football, organisers said the tournament is also being used to promote important social messages.

This year’s campaign theme is “Men, Take the Lead: Protect the Girl Child Against HIV.”

Sserwanga urged men, football supporters and the wider public to take the message seriously and continue supporting the Run HIV 2020 campaign.

He said the Masaza Cup provides an opportunity to reach communities with messages that go beyond sport.

The minister also thanked the tournament’s sponsors, including Airtel Uganda, PBS Refiner, Simba, Payba, Laston, St. Henry Bank, PBS and Majesty Brands, for their support.

He further commended the media for its coverage and continued contribution to the tournament.

With thousands of supporters expected at Wankulukuku, organisers have called for discipline and responsible behaviour before, during and after the matches.

Sserwanga urged fans to respect one another, avoid misconduct and help ensure that the final remains a safe and peaceful celebration of football.

He also appealed to drivers transporting supporters to exercise caution and ensure that everyone reaches their destinations safely.

“Let us take care of one another,” he urged, calling on supporters to remain disciplined despite the excitement surrounding the final.

Fans have also been encouraged to accept the outcome peacefully, celebrate responsibly and ensure that everyone returns home safely after the day’s matches.

The stage is now set for what organisers expect to be an exciting conclusion to this year’s Masaza Cup at Wankulukuku Stadium.
