Police in the East Kyoga region are stuck with over 40 recovered unclaimed motor vehicle registration plates.
Police confirm that these registration number plates were recovered during different operations and they are now being kept in police custody at Soroti City West Division Police Station, Nakatunya.

ACP Hajji Ibrahim Saiga, the East Kyoga Regional Police Commander says the registration plates remain unclaimed, and the rightful owners are hereby requested to go and claim them.
Saiga says all claimants are required to present valid proof of ownership, including but not limited to logbooks, national identification, or any other supporting documentation to verify rightful ownership.
“The public is further advised to report any lost or missing registration plates to the nearest police station for proper documentation and follow-up,” he said.
According to the Uganda Police Force Annual Crime Report 2025, upgraded smart systems and intelligence-led operations helped police successfully recover 56 stolen cars, 28 motorcycles, and hundreds of detached registration plates across the country.
