The National Resistance Movement (NRM) has elected Fred Bangumya and Stella Kiryowa, to represent the party for two seats in the East African Legislative Assembly.

The NRM MPs were elected and announced by the NRM Electoral Commission Chairman, Dr. Tanga Odoi.
The two seats have remained vacant, after former Buyaga West MP Denis Namara and James Kakooza, who represents the elderly in Buganda, were elected to the 12th Ugandan parliament.
Thirty-five candidates were nominated for these posts.
The NRM Central Executive Committee (CEC) has selected Stella Kiryowa and Fred Bangumya to fill the EALA parliamentary seats.
Initially, the party members who have been contesting these seats were given the opportunity to apply for votes and show what they will do for the country if elected.
The Parliament of the East African Legislative Assembly, (EALA), makes the laws governing the member states of the East African Community,(EAC), and helps to debate the requirements of the community.
